LEGOLAND® Deutschland celebrates 10 year anniversary
On 17 March 2002, in bright sunshine, LEGOLAND® Deutschland opened its doors in Günzburg, Bavaria to thousands of eager fans. A fabulous gain for the Günzburg region and a wish came true for millions of LEGO® fans in Germany and neighbouring countries hoping to become immersed in the LEGO worlds. Over the course of several years, the LEGO Group had carried out location analyses and decided to build the fourth LEGOLAND Park in Bavaria in September 1999. Günzburg won the final heads-up against competitor Tokyo.

Park concept: ‘Play your part’ at LEGOLAND® Deutschland
‘Play your part!’ is the motto of the eight theme worlds at LEGOLAND® Deutschland. The amusement park located in Günzburg, Bavaria offers more than 50 attractions and thousands of models made from more than 55 million LEGO® bricks and is an unforgettable experience for families with children between the ages of three and twelve. In the differently themed areas of the park children can accompany pirates, explorers and knights on their adventures, go on canoeing trips and safari tour, ride a roller coaster and explore MINILAND. Shows, 4D cinemas, workshops and a varied events calendar complete the offer of Bavaria’s most popular leisure attraction.

The 24 hours LEGO® feeling: staying overnight in the LEGOLAND®
In the summer of 2008 LEGOLAND® Deutschland opened its own Holiday Village in Günzburg, Bavaria just next to the park. This has made a short trip to LEGOLAND with its around-the-clock LEGO® feeling even more popular for families with children. On an area of almost ten hectares LEGOLAND visitors can enjoy 72 holiday houses with 144 family rooms, a large campsite, two restaurants, a lake with sandy beach, a minigolf course and adventure playgrounds. Since 2011 the Bowling-Center in the LEGO pirate design and a high-rope course, which can be used by children from the age of four, complete the list of family-friendly activities at the Holiday Village.
